The BGE-9050 is a detector of intrusions initiated by the breaking of glass barriers such as may be found in windows and in many commercial doors. This device incorportates a unique decision making system which requires both audio emissions plus shock vibrations of breaking glass to validate an alarm. All forcible entry attempts by way of breaking glass produce the wall vibrations which are sensed by the Dual Switch. The system greatly reduces the potential for false alarms and increases the reliability of the total alarm system.
The BGE-9050 Dual Switch system consists of a master unit which contains the shock detector, signal processor, and supervised alarm loop interface, while a remote unit contains the audio-frequency picup, and the red alarm and green status indicators. The green system status LED indicates that there are no persistent or interfering background audio or vibration levels. Status indicators for shock and audio are provided on the master unit, as is the shock sensitivity control. The master unit shock detector provides two sensitivity ranges, selectable by a jumper located inside the master unit. The alarm indicator on the remote unit may be programmed for memory or auto reset by a jumper provided inside the remote unit. the system is protected against tampering by way of supervision of the cable connecting the remote and master units, which results in an alarm should the cable be severed. The system is also designed to indicate an alarm condition whenever the power supply voltage fails below a minimum acceptable level.
The BGE-9050 has been proven throgh testing to detect breakage of:
1/8" and 1/4" thick plate glass 1/4" thick laminated glass
1/4" thick tempered glass 1/4" thick wired glass
